The annual general meeting of the Tokyo High School Alumni Association was held on November 29, 1999 at the Industrial Club of Japan at Marunouchi, Tokyo. When the Tokyo High School under the old system was discontinued, its students as well as teachers were absorbed by Tokyo University under the new system. So we lost succerors of us. The number of members of our alumni association has been decreasing every year. The youngest members of the association have become about seventy years old. So the executive committee of association set up this year a special committee studying how the future of association should be. The committee made a plan to liquidate its juridical foundation in near future and to have a big memorial event commemorating 70th anniversary of our school in 2001. The plan was approved at today's meeting.

You may know Maestro Takashi Asahina who is conducting classical musics like Beethoven Symphonies at his age over ninety, is one of the first graduate of our school. Every attendant of the meeting is active and look young just like him. They performed the Toko Dance (it is a tempestuous dance for young made by imaging various sports) very well. Then the meeting was disbanded. |
