TV reported repeatedly it was the best day for seeing Hakone beautifully covered by red and yellow leaves. A newspaper reported that all rooms of hotels in Hakone were sold out during a big holidays(starting from November 20 through 23). As the weather station said it would be quite a fine day today, I drove out to Hakone. If I met congestions on my way, I would be back to Tokyo. But fortunately I could arrive at Kojiri, Hakone about 9 am without having any trouble.
I left my car at a parking lot near a pier and took a big boat on Lake Ashinoko toward Hakone-en. Although mountains around the lake were very colorful, I could not see Mt. Fuji from the boat. At the last minute when the boat arrived at Hakone-en pier, I saw snow capped Mt, Fuji first time.
I hurried to a cable lift station for climbing to the top of Mt. Komagatake. But there was a long waiting line of people. As they operated lifts every ten minutes today, I could ride on the third lift without waiting so long. Moistures came out about this time and view of Mt, Fuji became a bit unclear.
Assuming it would be very cold on the top of mountain, I brought a down jacket. But it was rather warm without winds. People were enjoying a good autumn weather and a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji, lying on the hill-side grasses. Mt. Fuji became dim with moistures. Although I walked up to the east side of mountain top to see the coast line along Bay of Sagami, I could see nothing because of heavy moistures.

Riding on a cable lift, I came back to the lake side road. Enjoying beautiful colored leaves, I walked back to Kojiri where I parked my car. Walking through sugi woods (Japanese cedar) on a narrow road covered by fallen leaves reminded me of some thing like poems.
