The second and third floors of Tokyo station building have been occupied by a hotel from pre-war days. As the renovation of station building is scheduled to start in near future, keeping its beautiful outside view of red bricks. I looked around the inside of the station this afternoon. Although it is a long and thin building, its main corridor is very wide with wall to wall red carpet. Through windows around famous big dorm, I can see the concourse of the station. A modest sized dining room's floor is made of wooden mosaic. I found similarity to Queen Elizabeth II, as both of them have big marble pillars in dining rooms.

The old Marunouchi building has been torn down and erased from ground, but the construction of new building has not yet started. On the Maunouchi Naka street, a few luxurious shops of high grade European brands have been opened. You feel some hesitation for entering these shops, wearing jeans or something like that. I am wondering what kind of customers come to these stores. When you cross the Sotobori street to the neighborhood of Takarazuka theater (a new theater, replacing the old one, is under construction), you will feel at ease. A Christmas decoration was put already on a store.
