The weather forecast said it would be cloudy throughout the day. But it cleared up in the afternoon. We enjoyed a nice autumn weather. It was one of the best days for playing golf. We sought the autumn at our country club but failed to get it because the unusual warm weather in summer took off leaves from trees before they became colorful.

At last we noticed that green turf has already changed to brown yellow. It was a most distinctive mark of the autumn.

Today's co-players are Mr. Kitagawa and Mr. N.

Mr. N is one year older than me. But he walks gallantly and hits a ball at the very moment when he addresses to a ball. He is really a walk-and-hit golfer. He can get over 200 yards in straight direction. I was impressed by his beautiful play. Mr. Kitagawa remembered that he was a winner of the senior cup competition. Mr. N told us how he drilled himself in golf while playing a round.

* Everyday he swings a driver one hundred times (sometimes 70 swings) on a small mat laid on his turf garden (even when it rains).

* He climbs up and down the outside stairway of his apartment house before lunch as well as before dinner. In total he climbs a thousand steps a day (even it rains)

He goes to bed about ten o'clock in evening and gets up seven in morning. Furthermore he takes fifteen minutes nap after lunch.

He is concentrating all his life for golf. I touch my golf clubs only at golf course. I sleep for a half of his time. I would like to play golf as average golfer does. But in order to play in such a way, I have to change my life style. Now I know what I have to do.

Among my class mates (about thirty of them active), 14 mates are on the internet. Three computer troubles were reported from them since October 14th through 16th, a trouble report a day.

Mail from Mr. Michihiro Ito dated October 14:

I lost all records of e-mail about a month ago because a hard disc was crashed. I put a new HD of 10GB and increased memory up to 64K. I installed a new OS, Windows 98.5. Now I can send/receive e-mails. Although I am not accustomed with the new OS, I felt as though I moved to a newly built house from the old one. Best regards.

Mail from Mr. Hiroshi Iino dated October 15:

I have two HDs, 2GB and 3GB. As two of them becomes almost full, I added a HD of 8.4GB which I bought at a bargain price. As my Windows 95, one of the earliest versions, does not recognize HDs over 2GB, I divided it into four. But the PC does not accept MO. Then I decreased the number of CDs by one resulting in the recognition of MO. As Windows 95 OSR2 can control up to 2TB, I would be free from dividing HDs if I can get it. Is there any one who can help me to get it?

Mail from Mr. Yoshikazu Ushida dated October 16:

I met a serious accident that I could not start up Windows. The error message told me the machine could not find the system. So I called the system support of OS. They told me the machine could not recognize the OS because primary and secondary of the disk became mixed up. They suggested me to reinstall the OS from the very beginning. So I obliged to format the disk which kept precious data and reinstall the OS. Then I succeeded in starting it. But as it takes lots of time and efforts for installing various sifts and drivers, I dared to select "Defaults" of BIOS and started the PC.Then the PC was restored perfectly as it was.

The PC of today is easy to break down and hard to operate. Huge amounts of time, efforts and money have been wasted, I presume. I hope PC will become easy to operate and durable as TV of these days.
