The weather station at Gotemba announced that Mt. Fuji was snow-capped first time the day before yesterday in this fall. A TV said yesterday that it was the best time to look at the eulalia field because it was becoming silver. I drove up there to take pictures. I could see a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji in fine autumn sky but there was no snow. It will need one more week to have a view of beautiful silver colored eulalia field.

The day before yesterday I loaded on my vaio Windows98 Service Pack 1 and Windows98 Second Edition Update which were sent to me a few weeks ago.
|
It took about one hour and forty minutes for loading although I expected to finish it soon.(It took ten minutes for Pack 1 but about one hour and a half for Second Edition Upgrade.)@But I failed to load Java resulting in incapability of Windows Media Player. |
Mr. Nakamura (refer to my diary dated March 5, 1999) loaded Upgrade Softs which were announced on Microsoft homepage after the above two discs had been made. Instantly the vaio begun to work beautifully. I was able to listen to music broadcast. Its operation speed has become faster. In this world of computing, there are too many troubles which amateurs cannot overcome without help from professionals. For example, my IBM Aptiva became incapable to connect to ISDN. I carried this heavy machine to Mr. Nakamura's laboratory. As soon as he checked it, he found out the cause of trouble. The setting of port became wrong by some chance. He re-adjusted it soon. I cannot do such a work. Fortunately I can get a help from Mr. Nakamura at any time. How do you cope with these troubles?
