CBS MarketWatch reported on August 23,1999:

"J.D.Power and Associates released a study on August 23 of 1999 New Autoshopper.com Study. The study revealed that consumers who consulted online automotive resources as part of thier process rose from 25 percent in 1988 to 40 percent in the first quarte of 1999. Ths survey also said that number is projected to top 65 percent -- 5 million people --by the end of 2000.

While still small, the percentage of people buying new vehicles through an online service more than doubled, from 1.1 percent to 2.7 percent since 1998, it reported.

Overall, Kelley Blue Book topped the list as the most frequently visited automotve Web site."

There would be many comments and opinions on the above study results. The following is my comment on them:

1. People who want to buy cars try to get market informations as much as possible. To consult online automotive resources is the first thing they will do. You can get almost all of necessary informations in short period without telling about your individual informations, without having any obligation to anybody .

2.Once you get these informations, you can visit auto dealers with courage and confidence. Therefore number of people who buy new vehicles online would not increase.

3.The used car market informations are needed not only by used car buyers including those who vacillate between new and used vehicles but new car buyers. Because they want to have some ideas on value of their trade-in vehicles before going into negotiatons with dealers. It is quite natural that number of visitors to Kelly Blue Book is big.

According to CBS MarketWatch on August 23, a sales manager at San Francisco Toyora said that since he started registering with Internet sources like Autobytel and CarPoint four years ago, he's had about 30 tp 40 sales a month geneated from online research. Although he did not state, I think he succeeded in getting speedy conclusions of agreements with his these customers.

I hope both of consumers and delaers can get benefit from new way of auto deals.

Yesterday when I was at the fifith station of Mt. Fuji, I took two pictures of flowers. The below left one shows small pretty flowers. Their name is unknown. If you know, please let me have them. The right one is assumed to be "Akino-kirin-so."(Remarks: unknown in English.)
