I went to a swimming pool at 6:30 in the morning and walked in water 300 meters. As I forgot to bring ear plugs, I did not swim. As no one was here except me, I got a permission to take a picture of empty swimming pool.

When I broke my leg five years ago, I walked in the swimming pool every early morning as rehabilitation exercise. The walking in water was not popular at that time and so I walked 500 meters in water every time having inferiority complex. But these days quite a few people, mostly elder people, are walking in water. The walking lane is separated from swimmers lane at the swimming pool. So I do not feel weak while I walk in the pool. Someone said walking in water is much better exercise than swimming. Do you believe it or not?

About three o'clock in the afternoon, I went to Landmark Tower in Yokohama. They said number of visitors surpassed 10 millions. The view of tower from my country club looks alike a big tombstone. Someone said that it was a memorial statue of Japan's bubble economy. So I did not feel appetite for visiting it. These days mass media praised it as one of the nice spots for sightseers. That was why I came down here.

Five minutes walk from JR Sakuragicho Station brings you to the entrance of a long elevated corridor with moving roads connecting to the tower. An old sailing ship "Nihon-maru" was moored to a small dry dock on the right side of corridor as a historical memorial.

The civilian volunteers hoisted up to full sales this morning. People could see a gallant view of the ship. All sales were hauled down on our way back from the tower.@

The tower has 70 floors on ground and 4 floors under ground. Its height is 296 meters from ground, the tallest building in Japan. The 69th floor is for the observatory. The world fastest elevator with a climbing speed of 750 meters per minute brings you to the floor in about forty seconds. Although I imagined I could feel a big accerlation, I could not find any difference from usual high speed elevators.iFee; Adult \1,000j The view from the observatory is 360 degrees panorama. Today it was cloudy, hiding Mt. Fuji from the view. The city of Chiba could not be seen beyond Bay Bridge by moistures.

All passengers were asked to get off from going down elevator at the fifth floor and were lead to a big shopping mall as shown in the right picture. It is said that it looks like a shopping center in Minneapolis, Minnesota(the writer have never been there.) The place was magnificent, beautiful and full of shoppers.

At last I acknowledged that the most of people marching from Sakuragicho Station to the tower come to make shopping at this mall not to the sky high observatory.

On an Express train of Keihin Kyuko when I came back to Tokyo, I saw a group of primary school students who fell in sleep deeply on their way back from sea bathing. I had the same experience long long ago as of them.
