The thunder storm hit the center of Tokyo early afternoon. Lightening struck a few places near to my home. I tried to catch the lightening with my camera, but failed. The rain stopped by the evening.
I had a dinner party with my friends at a hotel in the center of Tokyo this evening. Although the surface traffic was congested because of the rain, most of them came on time by taking subways. As I drove myself to the hotel, I was the last one, delaying about ten minutes.
It was a formal French dinner but not a full course one. Each of us can select fish or meat as a main dish. I choose a roast pigeon breast. A weak strength Burgundy red 1995 was selected as the wine. The dinner ended with a splendid cake and espresso. I have never had formal French dinner since I was at hotels in Nepal. As many sightseers from western countries came, every hotel for them served formal French style foods every evening, sometimes even for lunch. This evening we enjoyed the dinner very much, The formal French dinner has somewhat different from Italian which has become very popular not only in Tokyo but in New York. It has elegance with dignity.
By the way, I saw many big hydrangea flowers everywhere this year. It might be a year of hydrangea. As the hydrangea is called as a typical rainy season's flower, I show you pictures of them here today before it is gone.
