* It was fine from morning in Hakone. When I drove up to the Otome mountain pass past ten o'clock, I could see a whole view of Mt. Fuji clearly. Because the strong wind blew off clouds and moistures. At Sengokuhara, I also could see the outer rim mountains of Hakone crater clearly including Mt. Kintoki. But the construction works of big resdinetial apartment buildings obstructed the good view of mountains. Nothing remained of a resort hotel and its beautiful garden where Crown Princess Masako spent a night with her family one night just before the marriage. They became their construction site.

* I came back to Tokyo past one o'clock and went to the Tokyo Kyosai Hospital to have a machine massage. A masseur volunteer who is collecting data about the massage machines said the machines at this hospital were made in Japan but there were many imported machines at the other hospitals. According to him, the machines made in Japan fit Japanese patient much better than the imports. He also said that to have long hours of treatment at a time has better effects than to repeat frequently the short time treatment.

* The amazon.com delivered to me two books today which refer the sink of USS Indianapolis in November 1944 off the Leyte Island in the west Pacific Ocean torpedoed by the I-58 Japanese submarine. It took nine days to receive the package at my home in Tokyo after I ordered. As I placed the order on Saturday while Japan had three successive holidays, they managed effectively about the mailing, I think. They informed me successively when and where the package was on its way to my home. All my pruchashing histoty of books from them is recorded and I can look at it at any time on its home page. It is a surprise to me.
