The Anaheim Angels won the world series championship 2002. I was impressed by Mike Sciroscia's precise guidance to win as a team. He taught all players of his team not to make big swing but to smash the opponent pitchers by having a bat in short if necessary. All players were very eager to win like mud. The come-from-behind victory in the sixth game, which the most of spectators thought they lost, was brought by players like Troy Glaus who never gave up until the end of game. At the final game, Francisco Rodriguez, a rookie, pitched well at the eighth inning and got over it with only one hit. It was my first experience to watch the world series on TV at my home in live. I really enjoyed the games. A friend of mine, who lives in Brea near to Anaheim, has been an earnest fan of the Angeles for years. I cheered his team throughout the series. Just after their victory, I called him to say "Congratulation!" It was almost midnight in California and he seemed to have went to bed already. I abruptly stopped my call.
Incidentally, both teams of the world series this year were from the state of California. So that their matches did not get into full swing throughout the U.S.A. Not a few New Yorkers have thought as though California was a different country. Some of them have been hostile toward Californian. The birth rate of white people has been decreasing substantially while the rate of non-white has been increasing. The white is said to become minority within 30 years or so. In California, the change of population composition is said to be proceeding. The hostility against Californian has been growing among whites in New York. Some of them are social elites. The others are those people whose life is better than average. I am afraid these tendency was reflected into the popularity of the games. These days, most of sport players are non-white. But the most of quarter backs of American foot ball teams are white. That is said to be one of the reasons why the foot balls can keep their popularity in the states, I learned the baseball games were quite enjoyable. I have a dream that one or two teams of big leagues will move to Japan some day.
