I visited Mr. Yoshinobu Nakamura at "Atheneum", his internet cafe, in Kawaguchiko town leaving my home before noon. But I was caught by a heavy congestion on the Metropolitan speedway. It was three thirty when I arrived at Kawaguchiko. It took four hours from Tokyo.
The early model of IBM Aptive is an only desktop at my home. Although it is very old, it works. But as its response is too slow, I have not used it for a long while. I would like to have a new desk top and use it as a main computer at my home. I had talks with Mr. Nakamura about its renewal from some time ago. I would like to decide the model of new computer with a help from Mr. Nakamura and if possible to place an order to Dell computer today. The today's Nihonkeizai newspaper carried an one page advertisement. It said if the order is placed by October 24 the buyer would get a special favor (The bottom chart was copied from Dell's homepage, the same as the advertisement on the newspaper.)

Mr. Nakamura advised me to have a biggest one if the space is available. The big size computer is easy to cope with additional options. And the price of bigger computers is almost the same as those of smaller ones, not different due to their sizes. From the map of future development and production which was announced by the Intel, the Intel's chips of the above four types of computer are in the yellow zone where the development and production has stopped already. The future computers will use the chip sets in green or blue zones. The new types of computers with new Intel's chips will be produced and supplied to the market soon. He said it would be better for me to wait for a while. As I could understand his advise, I stopped to order it today.

In order to move data kept in IBM535 to V2, the most certain way is to upload the data to the provoder by ffftp and then to download it to V2, he said. The best way to improve the response of V2 is to delete the unnecessary softwares from the computer. He also told me how to measure the real speed of internet transfer.
In evening, Mt. Fuji could not be seen from Kawaguchiko because of heavy clouds around it. The return trip to Tokyo was very smooth, I could come back to my home about one hour and a half.
