A thanks meeting to Mr. Kazuo Koyama was held by "the 1941 Tokyo Metropolitan First Middle School Golf Club"(organized by golfers of graduates and those who finished the fourth year class in 1941) at the Seiryo Hall (alumini hall of the school located next to it. At present, it is named as Hibiya High School) in Nagatacho, Tokyo. He has voluntarily been a General Manager of the club. Mr. Tomotaro Kaneko called its members to have a party for him

Number of attendants was 20 including two guests (4 of total were ladies.) The party was a great success.

The first match of our golf club was held in 1979 at the Kasumigaseki Country Club. Since that time, four matches annually have been held. Mr. Koyama reported that the club had more than 80 matches until now. Recently the matches were used to be held at Abiko Country, Mr. Kaneko's home course. I joined the matches only once, I think. But Mr. Koyama sent me invitation post card again and again every time. Whenever I met him, he asked me to join them. So I came here to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Koyama. It was also a good opportunity to have talks with my classmates after years.

Mr. Koyama said they were not necessarily excellent players. Please join us first, not to worry about scores. But I found today that they were very eager golf players. Mr. Yoshimasa Yamamoto has the latest models of golf clubs, especially longer ones such us a 50 inch super long one. He used to swing long clubs. Mr. Jiro Hiraoka told when he started to learn golf, he worked under a boss who loved to teach beginners but was not good player. So he got bad habits. Now after years, he got the knack of golf at last, he said. He seemed to be enthusiastic about the golf.

Every body looked fine and active. When someone cautioned that all of us were expecting to continue our matches for ever, we burst into laugh.

Mr. Kaneko managed this meeting carefully and finely together with Mr. Shinkichi Kubo so that every attendant including guests enjoyed the party. I thanked them for their wonderful arrangement. Mr. Takehiko Ogino volunteered to take shots of the party, being asked by Mr. Kaneko. He moved around the party to take better shots.. As soon as I get the photos from him, I will put them on this diary.
