I attended the 2002 General Meeting of Tokyo High School "Isamu-kai" held at "Sugamo TAMURA"from noon. 19 members including three wives came together and had a wonderful party. Mr. Mafumi Terada (he made preparation of the meeting as well as led the party. He made a booklet informing how the members were getting along these days.) Mr. Noboru Tsuya (he recommended this restaurant for our party. It is inexpensive, and serves the good Japanese foods at table and chair style. Today's menu is for ladies) were general managers of the meeting. All attendants seemed to be in good health and took a few bottles of beer and many cups of sake. We had animated discussions actively. And the meeting was closed past two o'clock by singing together the Toko-bushi."

Mr. Yasuhara said he has grown senile but he comes from long life family. Both of his parents lived over one hundred years and he is looked healthy. Mr. and Mrs. Yamashita moved to Komagome in Bunkyo-ku and have accustomed to a life in rural area, they said. Mr. Ohyama retired from all public duties in last June but they were too old to make overseas trips, he told. Mr. Kobayashi said that although he was asked by the managers to have a Q&A meeting about drugs he did not accept their requests because the pharmacy was diversified into many special studies. Mr. Ishimori looked as healthy as in last year. His hands were warm.
Professor Tsuya has been one of the best dressers among us. Today he wore a piece of natural copper (a professional workman said no artificial works could not compare with natural beauty) with a weight of jade on his neck (Mr. Tsuya has looked for such a weight for long time but at last he got it recently.) They are very beautiful. Mr. Tsuruta said that in the latest issue of Monthly Bungeishyunjyu Magazine, Mr. Hiroyuki Agawa wrote a little about the death of Mr. Yoshio Mizui, a classmate of ours at Tokyo High School. He was launched off from a big Japanese submarine riding of the Kaiten, a human torpedo, on August 10th, 1945 to make a suicide attack against enemy transport ships. He was a roommate of mine at the Tokyo High School board. I have not been able to understand why he had to die just before the end of war. Mr. Tanaka was quiet all through the meeting. Mr. Kuroiwa, sitting the next to him, brought unique chocolate caddies made by ASAGAYA "Gompachi" to all attendants. He told we must tell what we really think. What he would like to argue is almost the same as NHK's serial TV novel "Sakura's" theme. Her daughter opened my diary everyday, he said. Mr. Hirose is very active and can be said as an incarnation of "Good Health" Doctor Sato said he would not talk about diseases today but on the next month meeting at the Tokyo High School Hall. But he seemed to be obliged to talk about it by his surrounding friends. Ito said he would be able to get our from the old complaint. Good luck to him! Mr. Ohtakara will become general manger of this meeting from the next year together with Mr. Yasuhara and Mr. Hirose. Mr. Kuniyasu went to London this summer, but he suffered from fierce heat, he said. We could sing "Toko-bushi" to No. 8, the last song, without referring any note.
