8/6/2002(Revised)

It was the 57th annivesary of the first atomic bombing on Hiroahima. Mayor of Hisroshima held the anniversay ceremony on Tuesday. As it is said the oldest survivor is 83 years old, a few of old survivors will fade away each year from now on and number of survivors wil become zero not far from now. When I saw the faces of attendants to the cremoney on TV, the most of them were born after the bombing, it looked. Therefore I thought the only limited number of surviviors who met the bombing themselves attended. About my experience in Kure city about the bombing, I wrote on this diary last year on a page of August 6, 2001. I will not repeat it here. But I can never forget the growing mushroom clouds colored in pink (the old news reports were in black and white. only those who saw it personally knew it was colorful.) During the past one year, I acknowledged for the first time that the pink color of clouds was the refrection of burning up city and that many victims who gathered around the firefighting water resrvers to drink water were soon burnt up there to death. Not a few world leaders believe (?) that the destructive power of A-Bomb is necessary for executing their righteousness (?) now days. It is really awful.

I went to a post office to send the fee of Japan candles past nine and then dropped in a sport store to get an anti-heat cap for playing summer golf. But as it had few variey of products, I went to the Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Department Store right after its opening. As they told me on phone, they had many varietis at the sports wear corner on 4th floor. One of them is to put a few pieces of specail frozen liqid on top of head under a golf cap. It was heavy for me and was priced as 12,000 yen. Finally I selected the most simple one, a wear-it-after-put-it-in-water hat. It costed me 5,800 yen.

Within the store, there were many aged summer customers. Its dining room was full.

After I came back to my home, I worked on the last page of my dieary's English edition to recover its delay. Instantly a big toruble happened on my computer. I could not send or recieve any mail. When I talked with Mr. Nakamura, he pointed out the causes of troble. But it seemed very difficult for me to restore it, I decided to bring the computor to his laboratory tommorow noon. Incidentally I could upload my travel diary.

It was 35.7 degrees in the center of Tokyo Metropolis, the highest in the year.
