The red sky in morning was very beautiful today. I was busy all day long. I had not written the new year card yet. It is a custom of sending new year card to write all things happened before the end of year in past form. And the card is dated on January 1 of the new year but post it from December 15, this year. The radiation therapy on me was completed on December 27. Until that day, I did not know whether I could finish the seven week and sixty times radiation schedule as planned. Furthermore I could not imagine how I was after the completion of therapy ( the doctors had confidence of its good effects but not a few friends, some of them medical doctors, told me it was a risky bet or something like that.) So I could not write it until today. As I reported on my diary, I could complete the therapy with no visible troubles. I wrote a draft of my message for the card, printed it on hundreds of new year post cards and wrote name and address on them following the address dictionary (which must have been rechecked.) After midnight, I went out to post them. Although it was windy and cold, a man came after me almost simultaneously to post his cards.@
Meanwhile, I could get two sheets of mochi (rice cake) at the nearby Matsumaeya rice cake shop, which is very famous for its bean daifuku (sugar mochi cake.) I cut them into small square pieces and made Abekawamochi (steamed mochi with roasted bean powder and sugar), toasted mochi with dried laver and soy source. I happened to find the young shop owner was an enthusiastic fan of F1 race.
The Shimizu Espulse won the semi final of Suntory Cup Soccer Championship Match. I was looking at the game on BS Digital Hi-vision Broadcast in live. The screen management has been improved very much, but its reporter was not good. NHK and other civilian braodcasting stations are now training many people as reporters of the World Cup Games. But it would be just waste of time and money to train unqualified persons who cannot memorize the names, faces and numbers of main players. They should select only the talents who are suited to be professional reporters.
