Today I left my home at 7:30 and came back at 9:30 after I got a radio therapy at the hospital. The engineers of Microton told me it was their pleasure to have me early in every morning. I replied my home is very near to the hospital. It took only thirty minutes by taking subway. After I experienced the therapy at the radiation room a few times, I got to know how they manage the therapy room. Many inpatients who are getting radio therapy have to come down to the 2nd Basement from their rooms in the upper floors and have to wait their turn. But they cannot come earlier because they have to take breakfast and to get morning health check. So it is difficult to come earlier than 9:00. Meanwhile outpatients can register at the radiation room after 8:30. So when I come early in morning, I can get the therapy earlier than inpatients. This way of management aims to use the machine effectively. As the most of patients are aged people, number of early arriving patients from the outside of hospital decreases when it is raining or cold. So I become comspicious. That is why they appreciate my early arrival.
Incidentally a questionnaire sheet was sent to me from the Minato ward office, asking about daily life of mine and also about how I utilize the care insurance and also its related institutions. As I have sent it back to the office after fulfilling answers, I have not their questionnaires at hand. Although it might be wrong, I had a vague memory that it had a question like this: "How long can you walk without taking rest ?"Five answers are witten. But the maximum distance bracket was merely 800 meter and over. The researcher was possesed by a preconception that the aged people over 65 years old are weak in physical strength and inferior in intelligence and that they need social care for their daily living. There are many healthy and active aged people who do not want to have cares. They should try to prove that there are many healthy and active aged people. The govermets make efforts to help them to support themselves. For example, they should aid them to get jobs, to work as volunteers or to promote armature club activities.
