This year's general meeting of Kurosunakai was held today. Among 44 members, 16 people attended. Mr. Norio Takenaka and Mr. Hiromu Suzuki joined the meeting as guests. They were former professors of the faculty of engineering of Tokyo University.

Mr. Hiroshi Inoue and Mr. Hiroshi Iino were general managers of today's meeting. But Mr. Iino was absent today because his wife fell down at a stair and crashed her hand yesterday. An urgent business prevented Mr. Etsuzo Tanimoto, who was scheduled to come originally, from attending the meeting. Mr. Shinya Kamimura became the only one person who joined the meeting from Kansan district.

When we entered the faculty, Mr. Takenaka was an assistant professor and had a lecture titled as Machine Cutting ( I have kept my note book of his lecture. Recently I found his lecture was about a theory of cutting and was very difficult to understand for freshmen. He is a class mate of Mr. Eiji Toyoda of Toyota Motor.) He had a surgical operation for cutting away polyp of the rectum at the beginning of this year. Its result is so good that he plays golf now and then ( but number of strokes is not counted,) He said he was making efforts to collect the old machine tools for a history museum of engineering. Other than that, he resigned from all public services.

Mr. Suzuki became an assistant professor when we entered the faculty. He coached us how to write drawing while we were freshmen. He lost his wife last year. Since that time he closed his laboratory which was built outside of his home. And he moved his study room to the inside of his home. He said he wears a necktie when he enters his study room. Thus he draws a line between individual life and business life. He has been working on developing roller mills.

A hero of today's meeting was Mr. Hiroshi Inoue, who managed well the party without having Mr. Iino as a co-manager. He lost his wife because of rheumatism. He devoted himself to care his sick wife sincerely. He said he has to live long for his wife who died prematurely ( he is a devout Christian.) He never took seat managing the progress of party while it was going on for about three hours. Two former professors made speeches at first. Mr. Ushida, the general manager of next year meeting, proposed a toast at the party. He discontinued the speeches by every attendants But the communications among attendants were going well. He and Mr. Riichi Fukutome emptied three bottles of whisky. The party was finished by a single handcrap lead by Mr, Inoue.
