I visited again a Sony's service station in Akiahabara at about 11:00, carrying the old Vaio. My aim was to enlarge vacancy of start-up resources to same extent as the new Vaio, on which a consultant did well yesterday. A today's consultant told me as follows:

By pushing 'start' button first, then select 'carry out the nominated file' by putting 'Msconfig' and go to 'system set utilities', then to 'start up', the list of available options will come out. Only top three options on the list are quite essential for operating PC. As you come down to the bottom of the list, the necessity of options will decrease.

He left the first five items and a few options for anti-virus system and eliminated the others. He suggested me that it would be the best way for using my computer efficiently to take out an anti-virus system and up-load the system once a month to check virus. But ‡Ttold him I cannot make regular check of virus as I am slovenly. I asked these options should be left.) The result was that vacancy of system resource became more than 95 percent. I came back to my home, expecting that I can start a long article on this machine. The old Vaio works nimbly now. I was delighted with the performance of machine.

However I found out soon the sounds or voices do not come out from Real Player or Windows Player Media. For me, machines must have sounds (it is my custom to work on computer while listening to overseas news and music.) It is very clear that too many options are deleted. But I have no knowledge which items of option should be restored. I called a Sony telephone service technical consulting desk (0466-30-3000 which was given to me a yesterday's consultant). I had to call many times before I got the connection. Then I was kept quite a while before I got a consultant on line. Furthermore it took time to make her understand what the trouble is. The problem is solved by adding an option which she named for me at last. The vacancy is 89 percent. It works well almost like this morning. The many days old troubles have been solved. But I cannot understand why Sony informs to their customers these things by user's manual. It tells their secrets only to customers who are coming to it.

As weather station said it would be fine tomorrow, the last day of long holidays, I decided to take one day rest. I left for Hakone, driving on the Tomei Super Express Way. It was congested heavily in morning, but the traffic at this time was very smooth. Although it was cloudy, a belt of slit along the ground came out under clouds in west sky. Mt. Fuji came out in sunset sky a bit before Matsuda exit.

The left picture was taken at Gotemba exit. Immediately after that, the national highway to Otome pass was congested very much. It took more than one hour to get to Sengokuhara. But I am expecting to have good rest tomorrow. Of course I brought two sets of Vaio. I will check their performance and functions too.
