At about two o'clock in morning I was waked up because I felt a fierce pain on my waist back. I changed my position on bed in various way but in vain. I was rather disappointed by imaging I would not be able to play golf nor to make trips any more. I tried to walk around the corridors of ward or sit at a tearoom on the floor to read a book. Then suddenly the pain faded away. Later a nurse told me that "You are laid down on a narrow operation table in a different posture from usual when you are given anesthetic. If you keep such a posture for hours, you may feel such pains sometimes, when you are wore off from anesthetic effect."

The hospital was managed by computers perfectly. For example, every container of intravenous drip, every envelope of tablet, every menu and plate of foods labeled with patient's full name. In order to prevent any error of wrong intravenous drip, the method of confirming medicine by both of nurse and patient is introduced. The men at examination sections such as x-ray, MRI or blood test are pre-informed the arrival time of patient. So he/she can get right after the arrival at these sections. The computers has contributed not only to raise the efficiency of hospital operations but also to the safety of its operations.

Every floor of the ward has a tearoom as I mentioned in the above. A vending machine for various soft drinks is installed. The room has furnitures such as sofas, chairs and tables. Patients who can not sleep well at night, or those who wake up too early in morning spend time at home by talking with other patients, or reading books or magazines. I was told the sun rise view from this room was very beautiful, although I could not see it this morinig due to clouds. Every patient said that the people's health insurance by the government is a wonderful social security system. We get sufficient cares about our diseases at the lowest charge at the magnificent medical institutions.

An eighty six years old patient, who was given an award in late spring from the Governor of Tokyo Metropolis as a meritorious contributor of promoting inventions, told me at this room:"My stomach was cut off because of cancer. Further more I lost some other vital organs. Still I can work actively just like a sixty year old man. I have charged to everything. I have never avoided or escaped from any trouble. This is a secret of mine why I am healthy and active at my age even though I lost organs."@

I left the hospital at ten o'clock. I had to spend quite a busy day after I came back to my home. There were lots of things I had to work on although I left home only for 48 hours.
